Who are we?
Active professionals, working dads and moms, students, homemakers, retired seniors, energetic, inquisitive teens and kids—we make a diverse family, united together by our commitment to learn and live the way of Jesus together. We challenge each other to follow Jesus' example of authentic, costly love of God and service to our neighbors and world. In a time when churches and Christians are seen as increasingly irrelevant and out-of-touch, we get involved. What words describe us? Friendly, authentic, relevant & biblical—while far from perfect, we welcome you into a growing family of genuine, lasting friendships, where we challenge each other to honor God and serve Him in all of life. Our Sunday morning gathering at 10:00 has an inviting, non-denominational style, welcoming to everyone. You will find the messages biblical, Jesus-centered and often provocative.
Do you...
Our Purpose is:
"To Know, Love And Follow Jesus,
And Love Our Neighbor As We Love Ourselves"
Challenging, clear, concise… Our purpose includes all aspects of who we are as persons, the cognitive (to know), the affective (to love), and the behavioral (to follow Jesus). We understand that a faith that's genuine and alive will go far beyond "our four walls" having a transformative impact not only on ourselves, but our neighbors and community as well.
Our history and identity
Unlike most all churches in Tuscarawas county, we are quite young. At the end of 2007, Chet and Holly began inviting persons to form a small group in their living room. They quickly outgrew their home, so that in 2008 they rented a couple venues around Dover. In January, 2009, we began meeting Sunday mornings and purchased the former Salvation Army church on Dover Square. LifeBridge affiliates with a dynamic Christian church, the Mennonite Church USA, and Anabaptist Christians worldwide. Churches tracing their roots to the Anabaptist / Mennonite faith tradition are biblical and Christ-centered, helping people live out the teaching of the Bible, with a strong focus on the life and teachings of Jesus. We understand that Jesus not only offers us life eternal, but shows us how to truly live and experience life, here and now! To find out more about LifeBridge Community, or Mennonite Churches in general, simply read on, or speak with Chet Miller-Eshleman, our pastor. While Mennonite churches have much in common with many other Christian denominations and non-denominational churches, we are perhaps best known for quietly and consistently "walking the talk" i.e. putting Jesus' genuine love in action in many practical ways. We believe putting sincere love in action is deeply significant, as today in America Christianity is often "a mile wide but only an inch thick." Sadly, to identify yourself as "Christian" means little anymore. Jesus, however, guides us into a deeply significant way of life, a life of great purpose! At LifeBridge we emphasize several purposes that Jesus modeled and taught his disciples to live. You can see them here growing out of our purpose statement. The best way to get to know us is, to get to know us! Come by any Sunday morning at 9:30, or visit a home (life) group, activity or event. Chet would love to speak with you. Just call or stop by our offices any day of the week except Tuesday, his day off.
